Understanding the Application Pathways
Applicants must separate their application channel based entirely on the specific program type and location:
A. Health and Allied Sciences Programmes (Tanzania Mainland)
If you are pursuing health-related courses within mainland Tanzania, your submission must go through NACTVET’s Central Admission System (CAS). This includes:
- Clinical Medicine & Medical Laboratory Sciences
- Nursing and Midwifery
- Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Environmental Health
B. Non-Health Programmes and Zanzibar Institutions
If you are choosing non-medical routes—or any program at a college located in Zanzibar—do not use the CAS system. You must apply directly to the college via their individual admission portal. This covers fields such as:
- Engineering & Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Business, Management, Tourism, and Planning
- Education and Teaching
- Agriculture and Allied Technologies
General Admission Requirements
Ensure your secondary school credentials align with these official baseline standards before applying:
- Ordinary Level (CSEE) Route: Minimum of four (4) passes (Grade D or above) in non-religious subjects.
- VETA Qualification Route: National Vocational Award (NVA) Level III matching at least two (2) passes in your CSEE.
- Specialized Health Minimums: Competitive health programs have stricter subject gates. For example, a Diploma in Nursing requires a minimum Grade C in both Biology and Chemistry, alongside passes in Physics and English.
